| House Bill 1155: Additional Medicaid Cuts:
House Bill 1155 passed both chambers and was signed into law, mandating:
- A 15% reduction in medicaid spending across the board.
- A rollback of the 2.6% rate increases for anesthesiology we secured last session.
Despite the advocacy of our incredible lobbying team, lawmakers were unwilling to work with us and saw our profession as a way to fund their priorities. House Bill 1155 further cuts Medicaid payment rates, this time by 15% across the board, and rolled back the 1.6% increase in rates for Anesthesiology that we secured last session. Overall, that amounts to nearly a 55% reduction in reimbursement rates for anesthesiologists, among the largest cuts for any specialty in the past 2 years.
